High Current Hermetic Seal

A hermetic threaded stud seal is used in applications that require a high current. Our stud seals are designed to be used in pressure or vacuum applications in which a high current or high voltage penetrates a barrier. Stud seal feedthroughs are compatible with many gases and liquids and may be used to transfer power out of and into a sealed environment at operational loads in excess of 15kV and 1000amps.
If you need a hermetic seal for a high voltage environment in a vacuum or pressure application, Contact RHSeals.
Along with a line of standard hermetic seals, we can design and manufacture custom high current hermetic seals built to your precise specifications with a short lead time.
High Current Hermetic Seal

Applications

RHSeals high current hermetic seals can withstand even harsh conditions like Freon, coolant, aerospace, and X-ray equipment. Our high current seals can seal any high pressure or high vacuum environment with compatibility with gases and liquids like oils, jet fuel, refrigerants, and heat transfer fluid.
High Current Hermetic Seals
Stud seals are commonly used in air conditioning and refrigerant Compressors, power distribution, and vacuum furnaces. Applications for high current hermetic seals include:
  • High energy physics
  • Heater circuits
  • Transformers
  • X-ray equipment
  • Electrical power distribution
  • Semiconductor manufacturing
  • Vacuum furnaces and systems. RHSeals creates hermetic seals for high-vacuum environments to seal rigid PCB boards and bring multiple air, power, thermocouple, and signal lines through a single vacuum chamber port.
  • Compressors. Compressor systems are required in many applications, including refrigerators, vehicles, and air conditioners. Some items require a hermetically – sealed compressor that is air-tight for the gas-liquid transformation process. Because a hermetically-sealed compressor cannot easily be repaired, it’s essential that every component, especially the seals, are of the highest possible quality.
  • AC and refrigeration. Our stud feedthroughs are designed to withstand high power and pressure in compressors of any size. Hermetic seals can be used to protect charge sensors from refrigerant leaks and seal signal and power cables for magnetic bearings.
  • Magnetic bearings. Magnetic bearings operate best in a pressurized or vacuum gas chamber. Our high current hermetic seals allow monitoring, control, and power signals to flow out of magnetic bearings while maintaining this delicate environment.

RHSeals High Current Hermetic Seals

At RHSeals, we can seal any metal rod necessary for your system, including copper, brass, stainless steel, nickel, and titanium.
We can seal any style or size stud in the housing metal of your choice. Brass or copper may be used for maximum current or titanium, stainless steel, or nickel may be used for corrosion resistance.
We can also design high current hermetic seals that are not single conductors or round rods, producing hermetic packages or terminals designed for your unique application. Multiple current-carrying rods in a single hermetic seal can reduce leak paths and total assembly time.
Contact RHSeals to work with our design team to create the ideal seal for your application.
